-Breakfast at Tiffany's-
Finally got down to watching the vcd Merlin lent me. Audrey Hepburn is simply stunning in this movie. Storyline's cliched-poor girl Holly Golightly is determined to marry right but meets a struggling would-be writer who upsets all her plans.
The last scene is especailly touching as she finally realises how much he loves her and wears the ring he has kept in his pocket all this while. The rain, search for cat without a name and finally the coming together of 2 lovers who were all along
platonic friends is romantic. Haha..I'm really a die-hard.
The throwback to the past is always alluring. Consider Gywneth Paltrow's image in Sky Captain. New York in
Breakfast at Tiffany's is also so nostalgic. Read in the papers today that people's current craze with retro is a desire to assert their identity..Hm...
Why is it that people always think back to the past? Is a really a form of escapism?
